Alison Krauss

Alison Krauss was born July 23rd, 1971 in Decatur, Illinois. Both LeAnnekymes and Krauss were among the newest Grammy Award winners. Alison Maria Krauss (born July 23 1971) is an American bluegrass and country musician as well as singer. Alison Maria Krauss began her career in music as a child, winning local competitions at the age of 10. Her first recording was her first time at age fourteen. The year 1985 saw her signed with Rounder Records and in 1987 she released her first solo album. She was also invited to the band Alison Krauss Union Station where she still performs. Then, in 1989 her first solo album was released in conjunction with the band.
